The dahlia diversity at market is bursting in color, shape, and texture! At this special transitional time between summer and fall, the dahlias are in full bloom, but not for lack of hard work earlier in the season. Roger, farmworker @bearcreekfresh says “They’re like babies, they need attention!” At the farm they spend hours in the field in the early summer months pinching the leaves before bloom to hopefully get multiple flowers per stem, as well as hilling, a process where the farmer bundles the stems at the root for a stronger plant.
