Llegó el día. Over the last 8.5 years, we’ve heard from family, friends and strangers many comments like “why you guys haven’t seen each other in so long?” “i cannot even think of that happening to me”, and among other comments. Over the last 8.5 years, I saw multiple people on social media beautiful and touching videos hugging their families after so many years. With time, it was just too much for me. I lost hope, just thinking “must be nice” “it seems like it’s never gonna happen to me/be my turn” “always a bridesnaid, never a bride” but then… You let go, and get into the mindset that miracles DO happen: help with people you love, help from strangers…as well as planning strategically, and then BOOM! It IS happening. I wish people in general, specially people that are NOT immigrants would never have to experience the intense sadness, countless tears, homesickness and emotional trauma/damage that us immigrants have to live. It’s a LOT sweetie🫂, we also get the thing that some people just “don’t get it”. No matter who you are, whether you know me or not, which race/size/age are you, or the mistakes you have made…just look around you! See any cool human being/animal/etc you love? Make time to spend it with them, even if is just a few minutes. If you made it all the way here, congrats🤣this was a lot to say. Now I am kindly asking you to excuse me for a few days, as I am trying to make most of the time because guess what? THEY ARE HERE!
