If there’s one restaurant in Vermont I have been impatiently waiting to open FOR MONTHS... it’s @cafemamajuanavt... 💫 🍴 They just ordered their doors and boast creative flavors and unique dishes you can’t find anywhere else in Vermont! ⭐️ The Dominican diner meets Vermont is in Colchester - and adds a much needed restaurant to the bay-side community. Think the best empanadas you’ll ever have (chicken, pork, beef, panzerotti and bean), poutine made with yuca or fried-green plantains, Tostones Benedict with an Adobo hollandaise... 🍳 🍮 And all of the sweet delicious Dulces you can get your hands on. 🍴 Located in the Guilty Plate Diner’s former location, owner and James Beard semifinalist in 2022 Maria and her partner Geo have put their spin on the space and are bringing a new eating experience bursting with flavors to Mallett’s Bay. I love the diner vibes (there’s even a counter!) with flavors you aren’t seeing anywhere else in the area... ⏰ Cafe Mamajuana is dishing up brunch, lunch and early dinners from 10AM - 4PM Wednesday - Saturday. Try the Tres Leches French Toast with brioche bread, Dominican vanilla, cinnamon, 3-milk custard, a side of tropical jam and Vermont maple syrup of course, for brunch. Add a caramelized plantain or guava butter for another pop of flavor. 🥚 In the mood for a savory bite? The La Bomba is a bomb breakfast sandwich with a fried egg, LOCAL Vermont pork roll from @5thquartervt, queso frito and ketchup mayo on a homemade roll - add sweet plantain, roast pork or avocado. 🍊 For lunch, don’t miss the Dominican Caesar, with grilled citrus, crispy plantain croutons, fried Dominican cheese, crispy shallots and fresh shaved parm, or the La Bandera, with yellow rice, brothy beans, roasted pork or chicken, fried yellow or green plantain, and a variety of fixings to add on. 🍮 You can’t leave without some bites from their Dulces menu - whether flan, a guava and cheese pastry, a passionfruit chinola tart, a plantain cookie or a guava-ube donut - so delicious.
