The final move.
Not so long ago I was talking with a real master in chess, someone who I really appreciate.
This man always uses chess as a life analogy.
I was playing chess with my friends but we never got to finish the matches. We’ve all been there, king vs king or just a few pieces that always end in “ok, we tied”.
So I asked this person if that's good for the learning process and he said 100% NO.
Knowing how to finish is the clue! You must learn how to finish if not you will never get the win. It’s like starting a race but not getting to the end. Or leaving when things get tough.
This has been going on in my head daily in my training. Chess as a lifestyle, my finish line is where I have started to have a concrete finish line. Everyday I go out to run, bike or swim and I make sure that I finish. I love taking others words and making them useful to me. As a sign of respect that I have heard what they had to say and because I believe that everyone can give you something that makes you a better person.
The final move to checkmate. .
