Over the weekend, I got to experience one of my dreams come true. We created a real, actually made television show.
In March of 2024, I was lucky to be a member of SCAD's newest sitcom writers room. As a group, we created several pitches and ideas for what a new sitcom could look like, eventually choosing to go with one inspired by the famous Frasier episode, "The Ski Lodge." I genuinely adored staying up several nights until seven or eight in the morning to put everyone's incredible and hilarious ideas together into a script. I wouldn't trade those sleepless nights for anything. I loved every second of working with everyone, from the writers to the crew. As a room, we crafted a pilot. Also, I graduated.
Months later, I was lucky enough to return to SCAD to see the whole thing filmed in front of a live studio audience. It was surreal, and I was very envious of the continuing experiences of my peers. Even though I'd been gone, I was so happy to see the show become a reality. And now, almost a year later, "Lodged" has premiered at the annual SCAD TVFest.
Thank you to all the people who made this a reality. I had an incredible time working with everyone. It was so amazing to see all the people I've missed since graduating. I heard a lot of incredible advice and got to meet many esteemed guests, and now I'm more ready than ever to start my career off on the right foot. Again, thank you for an incredible time and experience! See ya' next time <3
