our bodies cannot tell the difference between a tiger literally chasing us and having a stressful day at work aka our bodies are in fight or flight mode way more often than we know/ way more often that it should be. long term activation of stress (whether constant life issues, chronic illness, difficult jobs etc) and overexposure to cortisol (our stress hormone) can disrupt your entire body and lead to all these issues mentioned (digestion issues, anxiety, depression, weight gain, illness, chronic fatigue etc) bc how can our body continue to function properly when it’s under constant stress?? alright here are a few tips to lower cortisol /react to stress better 1. Eat within an hour of waking (ideally a nutritious meal high in proteins and healthy fats) and 2. don’t have caffeine on an empty stomach (your cortisol is highest when you wake up so no need to raise it even more) 3. NO TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS (who u hang out w plays a huge role on your stress levels) 4. Low impact movement (I prioritize walking, yoga, pilates and occasional strength training) 5. regular breathwork and meditation 6. PRIORITIZE SLEEP (good sleep is the foundation to health!! reset your circadian rhythm and your sleep and energy will become 10x better 💘🫶🏼 #hormoneimbalance #cortisollevels #stressmanagement #sleep
