We all bring ourselves into the landscape, overlaying it with our own half-formed map of associations, recollections, interests and urges. It is at once beyond us and beneath us. In its wilder hinterlands we might like to think that it remains untouched, but our fingerprints - real and imagined - are all over it. This Pleasant Land: New Photography of the British Landscape is out today with @hoxtonminipress. I loved writing the texts for this, and loved looking at the photos even more.
