An escape to Arizona + childhood dreams realized with @theluxurycollection // Fun fact: when I was a kid my mom packed up the fam and took us to visit a cousin in Scottsdale, Arizona. I was in awe. It was a summer of so many firsts. The first time I had ever seen such incredible mountains; the first time I had ever felt that sensation of crisp, dry heat on my skin; the first time I realized ice cream trucks were not just for TV (lol); and the first time I ever saw a luxury hotel - The Phonecian. Of course, we just drove the grounds to sight see (and yes - that’s the actual home video from the 90s in this reel!). I had never experienced anything like it, and I never forgot it. Fast forward 30 years, and Arizona is still my place of many firsts - the first place I go between jobs, my first choice when I need a quick weekend away, and my top choice when I need to reset + recharge. Life came full circle and this time I got to stay at that beautiful hotel - The Phonecian. I still felt like that little girl - in awe of the cactus garden, blown away by the spa, and just so impressed by the beauty and power of that mountain.
