Pacific Crest Trail: Halfway. 1325 miles from Mexico. 1325 miles to Canada. As I sat next to the small cement tower and peered around at the burned forest all around me, a mix of emotions washed through me. There was the feeling of pride and accomplishment but also the sobering realization of what walking 1325 miles actually takes. The sweat, the pain, the time, the logistics... it took a lot to get here. As I find myself officially on the backend of this long journey, I feel bolstered by the reminder that I start this second half stronger than ever. I’ve spent the last three months rising to the challenges of the terrain around me and learning how capable I really am. Thinking of 1325 more miles can seem overwhelming but, just like the first half, I’m taking it day by day. One challenge at a time. Halfway to Canada, my friends! I’m so excited about what lies ahead ☺️
