*Testimony Time*
Out of all of my years working in the entertainment industry (2002-on), this is the most unpredictable season I’ve ever witnessed and experienced. And it’s been long! Now with the Skydance merger, my television family is watching the end of an era we all contributed to for decades. While I do not know how the future is going to play out, what I do absolutely know for sure is to trust the timing of my life. And when I speak to mentors, peers and colleagues, that is always the energy I lead with.
I have found great joy in focusing on the open doors. Had I been knee deep on a typically stressful show, I wouldn’t have directed an academic program or pitched and executed a whole promo tour or sought sponsorships...and honestly, I am pretty sure I would have missed my fiancé. I would have been too underwater and bogged down. I am grateful for the time to invest in my heart and areas of my creativity that had been waiting for me to tap back in. I am grateful for the time away from the life I knew to create ANEW! Don’t let this time away from what you previously knew keep you from what’s in front of you and most importantly, inside of you!
I am in awe of God’s timing.
On Friday, I received a financial blessing and the timing could not have been more divine. When I went to the bank earlier this week, I had my Bible in my hand as I was praying over the deposit. As I was leaving the lobby, an older gentleman - maybe 75+ - came over to me and he said oh my goodness, you’re a believer! My mom’s favorite Psalm was Psalm 91. He grabbed my arm and looked me deep in the eyes. We chatted for a bit and I was so moved he came up to me.
I’m on Day 24 of a solo fast and prayer season and the lightness, joy, abundance and gratitude I feel to stay rooted in the Word and share has been so moving. So I leave you with the opening of Psalm 91 -
Psalm 91:1-2
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Please reach out if you’d like to connect, pray or go for a walk outside. Love and deep blessings to you 💛
