Wales based electronic/postpunk duo @tangerinecat.music were supported by Help Musicians in August 2021 to record and release their latest album ‘Glass’. The album hit the top of the charts on Bandcamp after its release and the duo are embarking on an album tour this month with a number of headline shows across the UK. “It is like our career is divided into before and after Help Musicians. All things changed substantially and totally, the support had a huge impact.” As well as support to record and release ‘Glass’, tAngerinecAt received business advice sessions, something they had never been offered before. Being advised on branding and promotion, the duo invested in social media promotion resulting in an increase in followers and sales globally. They have also seen offers from journalists to cover their album as well as offers from a record store to sell the 'Glass' vinyl. “In the past we wrote a lot to magazines, blogs and radios and it wasn’t very successful. And even when it was successful and we had a lot of coverage, we didn’t gain any followers from it.” Here are some tips from tAngerinecAt for anyone thinking of applying for support.
