: Tonight in Los Angeles, Ian Scaramuzza of iconic Santa Monica fine dining backstage Mélisse, welcomes Ryan Ratino of Jônt in Washington DC for a collaboration dinner extraordinaire.
With more than 25 year of experience in the industry, grand chef and restaurateur Josiah Citrin has made his restaurant Citrin & Mélisse an institution of the US West Coast culinary scene, and since last year he has welcomed Scottish prodigy Ian Scaramuzza to add on further magic to his project. Today Méllisse still has that French touch combined with Asian and modern twists that made it famous even a decade ago - now reinterpreted through Ian Scaramuzza’s vigorous point of view.
On the US East Coast, Ryan Ratino runs Jônt; also with two Michelin stars and a French touch, and also with a very intimate setting created to bring down the separation between the kitchen and the guests. Jônt is a big open kitchen surrounded by a counter where, just like in Mélisse, only 14 guests are offered a tasting menu that defies seasons and breaks traditions. At Jônt the room was built to make the dishes the stars of the night.
Tonight, these two landmarks of modern American cuisine offer a combined experience showcasing refined culinary techniques, classic wines and welcoming hospitality. The menu will be a collaboration between Mélisse and Jônt, featuring seasonal ingredients spanning intricate hors d'oeuvres, seafood-forward dishes, and world-renowned meats.
Date: Saturday, August 6th at Mélisse, Dinner Service • Grand collaboration tasting menu by Jônt and Mélisse • Two seatings at 5:30pm and 8:45pm • $745 including beverage pairing. Sold out! • For waiting list please visit website • www.citrinandmelisse.com
