Emigrating from a small village in Vietnam to New Orleans, I was often told that these places do not have rich enough soil worth planting seeds.⁣ ⁣ As I celebrate another birthday, I can’t help but reflect on the people and communities that have shaped my identity and fueled my purpose. ⁣ ⁣ With great pride, I have harvested the flowers that naysayers said I couldn’t grow.
