Decided to take a break from poisoning my scalp with bleach twice a month and embrace my natural dark hair again. . Honestly I loved the platinum but in a way it became toxic (I literally didn’t even mean to make that a pun), and I started to feel this kind of Marilyn Monroe complex. I first dyed my hair when I left MAC in 2016 and took the scariest risk ever relying on freelance alone. The platinum became a form of courage for me and when my career started taking off I couldn’t help but correlate success with my new look. . When the world shut down in 2020 and I was out of work for a solid 6 months, I was brought back to the fear of “losing everything” that I felt in 2016, but dying my hair wasn’t going to give me courage this time. As I began booking work again I cut the blonde out of my hair until it was all gone. . I am so grateful to be booked and busy again working on some of the most rewarding projects of my career.
