Another @dannyelfman drum clip from the Hollywood Bowl. "Devil Take Away" is def one of the trickier ones. Lots of different time signature change ups and syncopated figures played (and sang) rhythmically in unison (for the most part.) After the gtr solo (which cycles between 7/8 and 5/8) we go into one more band/vocal syncopated section that goes between 7/8 and 6/8. When it gets out of that and finally lands into 4/4 for the end section I can visibly see (and I remember) me being relieved and happy that we made it through without a scratch LOL. I'm not necessarily smiling but just hitting hard and laying into it. Also notice during the last bar looking down to see what song is next because they would run immediately into the next one most the time. After the 2nd night I kept saying backstage "I'm glad that's over!" But then caught myself and corrected it to "I'm glad we pulled it off and it all went great!" #dannyelfman
