I love when a title gives you exactly what it promises! This book truly is about two siblings trying to sell a haunted house. Louise gets a phone call from her estranged brother telling her that both their parents died in a car crash, and that she has to come home to help clear out the house. The moment she walks into her parent’s house, the energy is weird. The television is on, and all the dolls in the living room are facing the TV. This is odd, but her mother was a puppeteer so the house is full of dolls. The dolls keep moving around and popping up in alarming positions and places, but Louise assumes it’s her annoying brother trying to play tricks on her. It quickly turns into a ‘Chucky’ scenario. I thought this was bone chilling. I loved it! Sometimes all you need is a fun classic horror story. What I always like about the horror genre in books over films, is that my imagination illustrates the story with visual images that are the most terrifying to me.
