In the off-season (running & working) I often find myself a bit unmoored.
Before COVID I was pretty consistent at getting in strength workouts especially in the winter and early spring. It made my running feel so good!
Right before COVID I was training for a 50 miler and a 6-day stage race @transrockiesrunning
CrossFit and long-distance training never played well together for me, so I focused just on running.
Then all the 2020 races got canceled.
Then all the events I was suppose to work in 2020 got canceled.
I kept running! 2020 was my biggest running year EVER!
2020 turned into 2021 and work events came back full-force!
My running events got pushed out once again but I kept running....Often alone and putting in long miles.
Fast forward to 2022! Finally MY events were on the calendar and I would be able to check those boxes!
So here I am in an off-season. I’m not going to lie, running is a bit “meh” right now. I’m slow and mentally burned out without any goals or progress.
I need a change!
So I walked back in to the gym I love! It hasn’t changed a bit......It was perfect!
Here’s to weeks of sore muscles and being a beginner!
And don’t worry, I never break up with running.....That’s impossible!
