@Sydney_Sweeney is getting ready to save the universe. The #Euphoria actress is set to executive produce and star in a new #Barbarella movie from Sony Pictures. While little is known yet about the nitty gritty of the film (Is it a sequel? An adaptation? A remake?), Sweeney confirmed the news Tuesday afternoon, sharing original art from the comic series the film is based on alongside an announcement of her casting, captioning the announcement: "time to save the universe."⁠ ⁠ Barbarella was originally released in 1968. Adapted from a comic series by French writer and illustrator Jean-Claude Forest, the sci-fi film is about an astronaut from the 41st century who is tasked with defeating a scientist who has created a weapon that could destroy all of humanity. So, no small feat.
