Is any of my other fellow trans sisters/brothers/non-binaries /gays/lesbians/queers getting permanently deactivated on your @lyft accounts? The reason I’m asking is I recently got my @lyft account permanently deactivated w/ vague answers from @lyft . I’m confused because I always keep my mask on w/ every ride, and have minimal conversations w/ my drivers. Last week, I was en route to my monkeypox vax appt. Upon entering I greeted my driver, and they seemed sincere. During this ride I gave a compliment to my driver their name was Karma. About mins into the ride I got on a FaceTime call, there’s was no music playing, and I was telling my friend I was en route to my monkeypox vax appt, and how excited I was. I had even joked on how I was probably going to be the only trans person there. Everytime, I exit a @lyft ride I make a point to kindly say thank you and to tell drivers to please drive safely-it’s a rough job, having to drive strangers around all day. I myself have had family members who were taxi drivers growing up, and understand the exhaustion. I did that on this ride w/ Karma, and even gave them 5 stars, only to learn that my account was permanently deactivated when I was placing my next ride. As a trans woman, and I know my trans siblings can vouch for me when we get into these @lyft rides you can immediately sense when a driver feels uncomfortable w/ you from the start. They will look at you w/ disgust. I’ve even witnessed drivers shifting their rear view mirrors. Trans people rely on these ride apps to get to wherever it is we are going safely. I often times use their service for my elderly family members who don’t drive and there’s barely any Ubers where my family lives. @lyft you can not call yourself an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, and then allow your transphobic drivers to constantly give us low ratings to the point of deactivating our accounts.
