Somewhere along the last two years Instagram stopped being fun for me and I have been focusing more on writing than directing, but now that I feel like sharing I have a couple year’s of content to catch up on. This is a small docu short film that I shot with my dear friend @royacarreras. When her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer we had planned a beautiful narrative. They both are dancers and choreographers and we wanted to create something special, an elegiac last dance between mother and daughter... but the pandemic came and Sofia passed. Instead I came to San Marin with just a camera and we simply spoke about her life, her death and when words failed, we danced. Throughout the lockdowns @oberhofer would do weekly Instagram lives in which he would play piano, talk and answer questions. They were such soothing moments of joy coupled with his penchant for a knit; he reminded me of a modern day Mister Rogers. He made this wonderful score. @ariannashiningstar was kind enough to color it and @donnalisa00 provided the styling.
