The time and effort it takes to shoot large format, and the tactile nature of film, somehow helps me feel more a part of the landscape, rather than simply an observer. For this scene, Ektar was the obvious choice. It’s combination of saturated colours, tonal reproduction, and the dynamic range of print film simply made this photo possible. I shoot a variety of films, but Ektar is always among what I carry on me.”
