Building 31: The Dental Clinic ✨ This small building, once used as a dental clinic, has been renovated in recent years, and is now a rentable public space. @alchemy_artist_residency, a local artists resident program, has opened Field Notes 2022, a self-guided temporary public art exhibition in various locations throughout Prince Edward County. Alchemy pairs working artists with participating wineries and farms in order to create work in response to a landscape, that while stunning, represents a harsh climate and rocky clay like soil. Artists spent a portion of the county’s harvest season reflecting about what compels people to continue to create, grow, farm, and live on the county’s western edge. Temporary public art installations are at nine local farms and wineries, plus a group exhibition here at Base31, which brings together artwork by sixteen artists who participated in the residency from June to September 2022.
