Some BTS of the @shiseido spot featuring @mrapinoe directed by @brookenipar produced by @prooffilms One of the references i was given was a GIF of a CG animated red/white ripple, kind of like a water droplet ripple effect. The challenge was to recreate it with light. My awesome long-time gaffer Dilip Isaac worked with the stages dimmer board op to create it. Ultimately we used 3x moving lights that were rigged in the truss above. Each light employed a simultaneous color change (red to white), zoom and de-focus pattern all offset from each other a little bit to create the effect. You can see in the videos how it looks. Turned out way better than i thought. This job was also challenging because all the prep had to be done remotely before hand while the shoot was in Seattle. Shout out to my great Seattle crew!
