There were fireflies floating at Hollywood forever cemetery. Penny Lane danced on the silver screen and so did we. We slammed breakfast burritos at Fred 62 and at 2am we danced in an empty parking lot until a spectator came along and we fled into the night like shadows. I laughed with my best friends and I held them. They held me. I connected with strangers and tried to make them laugh. They did. We shared stories. There were people all around los angeles tonight, living, doing their thing. And I thought to myself... how wonderful it is to be here. Right here. In this moment. And my friends are laughing. And the stranger waved back at me. And the black diner coffee was perfect. And the world isn’t so dark, sometimes. Even in this city with no stars in it’s inky blue sky, only a few to stomp on below the feet. And there is always goodness sometimes. You ever feel it?
