It’s really all about the relationships for me. In October of last year, @jeffontheboards introduced me to @prizzie_ , who Jeff described as a highly skilled engineer. What I didn’t know at the time, was that Prizzie was not only technologically talented, but an overall great person as well, and someone that I truly call a friend over a year later. Prizzie asked if he could send me an INDEPENDENT project he was mixing. The artist, we all quickly realized, was exceptionally brilliant—a legendary pen combined with a distinctive and original sounding voice. @munilong dropped her “Public Displays of Affection” EP, and on the day of the release, it was eclipsed by another major R&B act. But like anything timeless, first week numbers never matter—because true greatness can never be outshone. After four months of climbing, Muni’s “Hrs and Hrs” ascended to the top of the charts, and became a global smash hit. Fast forward to today, and it’s 2x Grammy nominated. But as I was saying before, it’s really all about the relationships, and without the team, there wouldn’t be as many people here to celebrate. I’ve really made some friends through all of this (you know who you are) and it’s amazing to continue to be surprised that music can heal and bring so many of us closer together.
