An Antebellum Theory a cultural reckoning, an examination of old wounds that still simmer under the surface of our society after slavery. @theatre_roscius Michelle Holmes and I sought to rework and reimagine the lives of Virginia Christian and Ida Belote. A woman and teenager who both became casualties of a violent system. + This Grief Will Be of Use Pt 2 - a live performance by @theatre_roscius & Michelle as Virginia and Ida, a demonstration in four vignettes. Thanks to @artshare_la for having this body of work return for free public viewing on August 27th and September 3rd, with play repeating thrice, at 2:30,3:00,3:30pm, with accompanying 8mm short film and photography exhibit. It has been an honor collaborating with @theatre_roscius and Michelle on this body of work spanning the last 2 years. ‘For we know the past seeps into the preset, but we tried to break its chains on the future.
