Super 8 film of Chelsie and Jordan’s wedding last autumn - recently featured in @britishvogue I confess, over the past couple of years, I’ve been having a love affair with super 8 film, it brings me so much joy. This... this little beauty of a machine has reignited the flame for me; the excitement, the joy and my love for creating. Each time I receive scans from the lab I sit at my desk, smiling, like ‘the cat that got the cream’. This... this is what it’s all about. True to life and unapologetically raw. My little super 8 camera has been accompanying me to weddings for a couple of years now. It’s been a slow process of learning, especially when I have to send it overseas to get developed. For this film in particular the aperture had a mind of its own and my hand was far from steady, each time I get film back I vow to improve on the last attempt. That’s the beauty of film, it forces you to slow down and embrace the process, you can’t just look at the back of the camera and try again if the shot didn’t work... you just have to trust.
