😭😭😭 This song destroys me and puts me back together at the same time. Listening to it on repeat is helping me feel a bit less alone in choosing a life away from family. Anyone else been listening to this album nonstop? 🥹❤️ Being the long distance daughter is so bittersweet. It can be very lonely, at the same time it is the right path. The happier path. The more free path. The path of growth, expansion and self-discovery. The path that nobody but you understands, one that feels right in your bones. But the bitter part is also knowing it’s not possible to show up for your family and friends like you once did. It’s accepting you will be the last to hear family news. That you can’t have dinner with your dad or go hiking with your mom more than a few times this year. That you’ll miss out on everything that used to feel as natural as breathing, before you left 😭 This song hits different when vou realize that moving 4,000 miles away from your hometown to a new country is changing you in ways you couldn’t have imagined but you feel guilty just the same. But when we I feel sad about leaving Montana, that I’m now 38 hours of travel away from home- I remind myself that when we @charles_post + I have kids some day + they grow up, I hope they will go do whatever makes them happy. And that growing up and moving away is just a reminder that our childhoods don’t last forever, none of this does. It’s just a reminder that the one thing we’ll all do in this life is pass on 🥹 Life is so freaking bittersweet. But the thing is, I don’t think I’d appreciate my old life half as much as I now that were off on this new adventure.
