There is no true CONSTANT with tour life. Having toured a few times before, I have created tools that help me to find inner peace and control.
One thing that I know I can control are the choices I make day to day, to allow myself to feel in control of my life while being on the road. The cities change weekly, my space changes weekly, my bed changes weekly, my schedule changes weekly, BUT one thing doesn’t change- my dedication to myself.
Tool: My yoga practice has helped ground myself and root down into the present and the now. I travel my yoga mat with me, and regardless of the space provided, the disruptions happening around me, the chaos life may throw, for even 20 minutes, I can set aside time for myself to focus back inward and tap back into my breath. This has been my way of carving time out for me, reminding me that I can always disrupt the flow, ground myself, and find my inner peace. I’m grateful to have put the work into my practice to allow myself the ability to focus, be present, and accept my body, mind and spirit as it is that day.
Todays practice was poolside as it was about to downpour, where as yesterdays was in my hotel room with a little candle lit along side of me. This post is a reminder to myself to just keep pushing to create the good habits in my life.
As my time on tour comes to an end, I’m excited to jump back into the hustle and bustle of being in one place, my HOME (finally!). I’m excited to recreate my routine at home, with my family, friends and husband, and await whatever new adventures lie ahead! Being on my mat has been my HOME while on the road and I am so grateful for that.
NYC, see you soon!
