How many of these gut healing foods are in your shopping cart?? 🛒👀 What I’ve come to learn through my own health journey, is that healing your gut has a lot more to do with what foods to INCLUDE in your diet, than what foods to AVOID. And I LOVE this approach, because I think it creates such a healthy, positive relationship with food. Instead of fearing foods or thinking of them as “bad”, we are seeking out foods based on the amazing benefits they are providing us 🌱🤩 Every day we wake up we’re asking: What foods can I eat today that will help feed my little gut bugs? 🥹 what’s going to feed those beneficial bacteria the most? The reason this is so important, is because these good bacteria produce certain enzymes that we NEED to break down our food properly. If we don’t have these enzymes, this is where we experience lots of bloating, gas, and other issues after meals. So your ability to tolerate & digest certain foods is largely dependent on how well you take care of your little bacteria friends. This is where I love things like... - resistant starch - prebiotic fibers - fermented foods - sulforaphane containing foods All of these things have been shown to improve the levels of good bacteria in your gut, while reducing levels of harmful/inflammatory bacteria. 🙌🏼 With every meal you have the ability to strengthen that “gut muscle”, improve the health & diversity of your microbiome - and as a result, increase the amount of different foods you can tolerate without bloating or other symptoms. This is where food truly does become your medicine, and where you no longer have to rely on supplements or medications to feel normal each day.
