We are delighted that @egyptair has joined the growing list of airlines ending their involvement in the transportation of monkeys to laboratories. Egyptair's role in transporting monkeys was first revealed by @actionforprimates in March 2022. But tens of thousands of non-human primates continue to suffer in laboratories every year. Our investigation team had revealed how monkeys are transported as cargo, torn from their families and crammed into small wooden transit crates. Journeys from Asia to the United States are a gruelling and traumatic ordeal for these monkeys, with over 20 hours flying time and up to a six-hour stop-over.
