I’ve been customizing my gear since I put a playing card with clothespin to my Schwinn Stingray spokes at age 6. I’ve painted bikes, stickered trash cans and found ways to customize my snowboards. Never would claim to be an artist, but I love to be creative in making my stuff cooler or more functional. Next up, I wanted to take my already amazingly beautiful sawyeroars up a notch. Too far? I love the old school vibe. The first shot is my 1988 Sims snowboard, I broke it going off a big cliff at Stevens Pass and landing on a rock (yes, I killed that rock!) Snapped my board clean in half only the Ptex held it together, but I got a few more runs in before calling it. I bartended nights at the Vogue (think late 80’s grunge in downtown Seattle) and put up a sign “Bartender broke his snowboard, will work every night till he buys a new one” and raised enough extra bonus tips in a week to buy my first @k2.snowboarding board and the rest....is history
