FAIRUZ: Happy 88th birthday to the living legend Fairuz (الترجمة العربية بالاسفل). Originally we mostly listened to her albums that were produced by her son Ziad Rahbani, especially "Al Bosta" on the legendary Zida label and “Maarifiti Feek" which was released in 1987, yet sonically feels older. Recently we have been paying more attention to other highlights of her catalogue, e.g. we opened our last DJ set with "Habbaitak Be El Saif" which might not be an obvious choice in a club setting but its musical greatness can clearly work in any room and context. The photos are a selection of cover scans of 7" vinyl recordings of her in our collection, the video from Beirut 2 years ago.
