As part of my research for directing this show, my beautiful, supportive mom and I drove down to Nashville to go to the Patsy Cline Museum. I heard it was closing and being taken over by more of the Johnny Cash museum. No offense to Johnny, but that broke my heart. I had grown up hearing her songs from my mom singing them in the kitchen (way after Patsy passed… she wanted me to point out), and my favorite 90s country music singer LeAnn Rimes doing covers. But I never really knew too much about Patsy’s story until my research and absolutely falling in love with her voice and her heart. There were little things in the museum that inspired pieces of my show, but mostly made her so real to me. In a way, I felt like Louise. I was becoming best friends with her and she was filling a place in my heart. I hope I did her story justice. I know my amazing actors certainly did! And it was my favorite thing to hear audience members saying “I didn’t know much about Patsy, but I loved this show!” Or “I’m going to go listen to Patsy Cline in the car on the way home!” It means so much to me be a part of keeping the legend… the voice…alive in people’s hearts! Patsy… I will love you … Always… Kat Moser-Priddy ♥️
