To celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we are crowning Sherrilyn Ifill as our Queen of the Week 👑 Sherrilyn is a scholar, civil rights activist, and the former president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF). Over her decades-long career as a lawyer, Ifill has been a driving force in several cases of voter rights, police reform, gender equity, and racial justice. Her activism and accomplishments have named her one of TIME Magazine’s Women of the Year in 2022, as well as one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2021. Sherrilyn Ifill is headlining Northwestern University’s 2023 MLK Dream Week as the keynote speaker of the week-long commemoration of Dr. King’s legacy.
