Saying goodbye to 2022 by exploring the automotive characters inside Dragon Ball creator Akira Toryiama's artworks ✏️
Toriyama is quite famously associated with his obsession for Formula One, even going as far as creating a manga about Ayrton Senna back in the '90s while his publisher sponsored his race car, but his vehicular obsessions run much deeper than that. Toriyama actually spent his childhood surrounded by cars, machine parts, and motorbikes at his fathers' workshop. Whether imaginary motorbikes, quirky British roadsters, or Porsche Targas, there's a very clear love for the details evident in each of his artworks. There's even a peak-1990's digital image of Toriyama is his studio with a bike parked up right behind him.
He's a famously reclusive artist, so there's very little information about his own collection, but we'd like to imagine that somewhere in the garage of the bizarre bright orange house he lives in (take a minute to search for it online - you won't be disappointed) - there's a 911 lurking.
