For centuries, library bookplates have served not only as marks of ownership but as vehicles for self-expression and, even, self-invention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Commissioned from the Chicago-based painter @dannybredar, Moss’s new bookplate is our take on the traditional still life, featuring symbols of intelligent leisure like the magnifying glass and martini, the whimsical Zodiac globe from Hans Holbein the Younger’s “The Ambassadors,” and an open book featuring a Latin translation of “The Place to Gather.” And if you look closely, you may even spot one of the signature arches adorning our future home at 520 Fifth Avenue.
