This is a client that I always anticipate needing extra time for so I always make sure I have it but what happens when you don’t and you don’t have an assistant? Chances are we’ll have to settle for a result much less than what they’re anticipating for time’s sake. This is why color history is extremely important and if you make time for it, a test strand is even better. This allows you to formulate a plan of action, and knowing what you’re going to do in the event of uneven and/or resistant lift. For this client I start with lower volumes, finish at my highest (20vol) and then come back and reapply from where I started and where it needs it with my finishing highest volume. This allows for more gentle lift while I’m getting everything on and then coming back and adding the power that it needs.
