THE COLOR PURPLE - The Muny Y’all... It’s taken me a good minute to gather my feelings. I feel deeply, but I love deeper. We closed The Color Purple at @themuny one week ago, today. This collective of artists/ souls was nothing short of divine. There simply is no greater word for it. Every single day of this contract I felt inspired, encouraged & LOVED. I could watch these brilliant beings create everyday and never grow tired. I often did just that. This was my FOURTH production of The Color Purple. This story was my very first professional theatrical experience. My mother bought me tickets to see the touring cast of the Original Broadway run at the Cadillac Palace, downtown Chicago for my 16th birthday. It was at that moment I realized I could have a career in this industry. I saw myself on that stage. I saw my kin folk. **Cues African Homeland... “PEOPLEEEEE!!! 🎶 ” My mind was blown! The Muny has been a bucket list of mine for quite some time. I’m so grateful it came just when my heart needed it most. Thank you a million times over to our FEARLESS director, @batmanbr0wn .
