So a little over a year ago now @evanhafer asked me to make a Johnny Morris the owner of Bass Pro shop a custom blade as a thank you for everything he has done for the company. . Obviously I was pretty nervous because what the hell do you make somebody who has everything. Also this was the first project Evan asked me to do since moving here so nerves were high! . Thank God a few weeks after he asked me I went to Bladeshow in Atlanta and I met the amazing people of @blackhorseforge . They are a veteran run nonprofit forge that uses the therapeutic benefits of blacksmithing to help veterans through banging hot steel. Walter Reed Hospital even sends guys directly to them for therapy. . Told them about my project and that I was at a loss of what to do and they invited me out to spend five days with them and come up with something epic as a team. . That is exactly what we did and then some. . Hands-down one of the best experiences of my life and I learning so much from all the talented smiths that reside at the Forge. . You would be hard-pressed to find a knife that has more history in it than the one that we ended up building and it is by far my proudest piece I have ever made! . I cannot thank @blackhorseforge enough for opening up their doors to us and treating us like family for five days while we came together and made something epic. . Also want to thank @evanhafer for trusting me with this build and always pushing my limits. I remember telling him I didn’t think I was right for the job and he told me that, “bullshit, you will figure it out”. He was right. .
