Meet our new Executive Chef at The Brew Pub, Chef Joseph Schuster!
As a child, Chef Joseph learned to read from cookbooks. A lifelong culinarian, he uses his voracity for knowledge and understanding of food from soil to table to produce meals of various cuisines with artistic flair and nutritional value. Joseph began his profession in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at Gullifty's in squirrel hill, which is regularly voted the best desserts in Pittsburgh. He garnered media attention at Winghart's in Market Square as the restaurant's second executive chef, obtaining the second-best burger in Pittsburgh. From there, he spent time as sous chef in Pino's Mercato, a hidden gem with a focus on tapas and small plates, and later an interlude at Bar Symon, the restaurant of Iron Chef Michael Symon. He eventually moved north to Slippery Rock with his wife and four children, expanding and defining the cuisine of Red Rock Falls before settling in at North Country Brewery. Joseph is regarded as warm and approachable, and passionate about gastronomy and its nature as a temporal canvas of playful experimentation.
