Dear Griff, August 2nd is a day I will never forget. One day, one minute, and one second can completely flip your life upside down. Everything that was once good can turn ugly. One thing after another trying to steal your happiness and hope. Tragedy happens to others. Not me or my family, that’s what I would always tell myself. Even though we may fight and you get on my nerves I could never imagine losing you. You are the strongest person I know. You have persevered through so much no 12 year old should have to go through. Through chemo, labs, and solitude you have stayed the light you always were. Your personality still lighting up the room even through the battle for your life. Cancer is a word with lots of uncertainty for you never truly know what it entails, but I have seen God show up more than ever before. I have felt his peace and mercy like no other. Gods plan isn’t always ours, but if we trust him he will make a way. You are my hero Griff, your story has completely changed my life. You are my inspiration for each and every day. I may not know the rest of the story but I do know Gods got a special plan for you and I cannot wait to watch it unfold. I love you bud 💗. Cancer can kill but it is so limited.
