If there’s one thing I’m most passionate about above and beyond food it’s this. Over 3 million dogs enter shelters each year, and about 400,000 are euthanized due to overcrowding. We have a dog overpopulation crisis and supporting breeders only adds to the problem. Every time someone buys from a breeder, it leaves one more shelter dog unhomed or euthanized, and perpetuates the cycle of overbreeding. Buster and I beg you #adoptdontshop . Do your research if you’re looking for a new best friend. And if you’re set on a specific breed... do your research! Breed-specific rescues exist. Just don’t look the other way and become part of the problem. I truly believe the issue isn’t a lack of compassion, but a a lack of education. Because no true animal lover could learn the facts about this crisis and still support breeding. #nationalrescuedogday
