One piece of advice I often give parents of teenagers is not to catastrophize everything their child does that worries them To trust that the child you raised is going to figure it out in the end rather than to constantly judge. What your teenager needs from you is help with self-esteem and individuating, and maybe some boundaries so they can separate from home at a gradual healthy age-appropriate pace rather than at the speed they innately want.
