“2021 was the year of COVID, but 2022 is the year of poverty”, as described by one woman the Foundation team met during a visit to a community centre in London to discuss food insecurity and the use of foodbanks throughout the UK. Since 2016, the need for food banks in their network has increased by 81%, according to The Trussell Trust. The need for food banks is drastically surging, all the while stock levels are falling. To help tackle this, The Caring Family Foundation has been helping several community food banks including @Dsettlements @LondonsCommunityKitchen and @CommunityCookUp to ensure that children and families can access healthy and nutritious meals over the summer holidays.
