Are you building towards a handstand practice or even wanting to progress towards press? These are some drills & movements that will progress you towards your press goals & or at least give you more strength in your practice. As in the video I mentioned three main components. If you don’t have a handstand hold, press is an advanced skill that is meant to be worked on after understanding what it feels like to have a hold. However, the drills in the video are for everyone & will provide you with next level strength. Press handstand was a very hard thing for me to learn in spite of already having a relatively strong handstand practice. I didn’t really understand why specifically I was struggling so much & just going to my regular classes wasn’t enough for me personally. It was frustrating & I basically had resided myself to “well it’s just not meant for me” it took a mental slap to my own face to shake that mindset & I committed to a program to once a week training press handstand & my only regret was not starting sooner. It was a humble reminder & a grateful learning experience that’s given me wisdom unto myself & that allows me to understand others better as well. So often, our trials & tribulations on & off the mat can set us on a much more meaningful, deeper understanding of knowledge & wisdom, that allows us to be sympathetic, encouraging, direct, or more firm when necessary with others. The wisdom is in knowing when to execute which one with whom.
