60 hours in NYC 🏙 What a trip! This year on my 36th birthday, I told myself that I was going to make the rest of my life magical. My mom died when she was 36 and I made a promise to her, and myself, that if I had the opportunity to live past 36...I would live IT UP! No more excuses. No more BS. No more “playing small”. No more doubting myself. This year has been all about letting GO of what doesn’t serve me and stepping into my best self. This year, on 3/23/22 I relaunched @combededucation with The FUNdamentals course-shop, the Let’s Talk Hair podcast and The Combed blog. (On 3/23/22 I was the exact same age that my mom was when she passed). This is why the launch date was very specific + intentional ❤️ Recently, a family member passed away unexpectedly at a young age. He was the epitome of a YES man. His life was full of happiness, joy, and seizing the moment. On Saturday, the opportunity came up for me to go to NYC (which has been A DREAM OF MINE SINCE I WAS 10...i went in 2019 for a conference had a total of maybe 15 hours to enjoy the city)... I thought about the promise I had made to my mom and myself. I thought about Jack, and how he was down for whatever, whenever with whoever... I had to say yes. I HAD TO. And I did. I booked my flight on Saturday for a flight that left in just 48 hours. I had no agenda. No plan. No idea what I was going to do...I just knew I HAD to go. What an Incredible few days it was. The majority of my time I was SOLO and I can’t begin to tell you the magnitude of what traveling alone did for me, my confidence, my soul...🥲 When I opened up my own business, I had a vision of what I wanted for myself... I wanted to be able to do whatever I wanted to do..Whenever I wanted to...I didn’t want time or money to be a hinderance. I wanted true liberty in my life. This trip...this trip was a HUGE realization for me... The liberty that I had been seeking....turns out, I have it 🥹 and this trip was full validation of that. My mission to inspire and empower this industry...THIS is what it’s for. This is what I want for every stylist I meet. Build your confidence->build your business->live your best life.
