🚨FARGO RECAP🚨
Kayla Batres wins the 110 lb Junior Women’s Freestyle National title and becomes the 3rd female in CT state history to do so in Fargo. Kayla also captured the MOW award after dominating the competition by a total score of 62-1. She is the first athlete to achieve MOW in the Junior division in CT state history. This is her third All American honor in Fargo after placing 2nd in both 2023 & 2024.
Jaxsen Bailey places 7th in Freestyle and 4th in Greco to become the first double All American in CT and New England since Coach Tim Kane, who became a double Fargo AA in 2015.
Liam Carlin takes out multiple nationally ranked wrestlers en route to a 4th place finish in Fargo. He finishes the tournament 6-2 and will attend & wrestle at UPENN in the Fall.
Eli Shea, Jackson Heslin and Chase Kastner were all one match away from placement during Greco and had impressive showings through out the week. Jocelyn Sanchez also made it to the placement match in the Junior women’s tournament. Hubert Szymko, Ryan Schneider & Kingston Daniells Silva finished 2 matches from placement and had impressive runs into day 3 of the tournament.
Great job to all of our athletes that trained hard all Spring & Summer leading up to this event which is considered one of the largest wrestling events in the world. Fargo is a prominent event for HS wrestlers and everyone should be proud of their efforts this past week 👊
