Neda and I was in Madrid the day before yesterday to watch "A man called Otto", and it was great. But yesterday we got to go to the gala premiere in Stockholm with our children, and that was a special, special thing to us. When Neda and I first met 15 years ago we went to see movies all the time. We were young and didn't have a lot of money, and to us the cinema was a full day of entertainment. Sure, the movie might just be 2 hours, but then we talked about it. Talked and talked and talked. I don't think anybody really ever understood how we ended up together, we're incredibly different, but we had both been lonely children. I had books to keep me company, she had Star Wars, and we both had the cinema. So talking about movies was how we learned to understand eachother. It still is. When we had children of our own that just continuted with them. Cartoons, fairytales, adventures. We watch movies and we talk about them, that's how we get to know eachother over and over again. The cinema is still a magical place to all four of us, we go in there and we can go anywhere. So this year has been a marvelous adventure, from visiting the set in Pittsburgh in February to me and my daughter making not great jokes and eating all of the popcorn yesterday, and her brother and mother rolling their eyes at us. But I'll never be comfortable at the parties or in the photos, I don't do a lot of interviews, never felt I could be myself in those situations. I'm only ever myself with these three. Neda and I are really proud of everything that's happened this year, but we never got into this for the gala premieres. We just really, really wanted to go to the movies. So yesterday was really something, but in January we'll go back to the cinema and watch A man called Otto just the four of us. And that will really be something, too.
