Martial Arts has been such a blessing in my life. When I moved to LA in 2009 I thought for sure I’d be on some Denzel ish in a couple of months 😅. Oh how I was humbled lol However I wouldn’t change it for the world. I think you need that level of self confidence to go after a dream. So long as you’re doing the work to back it up. Point being. My dad told me to start back up Martial arts. I’d enjoyed doing Tang Soo Do as a kid and with his advice figured it was time to start again. I thought it would tie in well with my acting too, if ever action was needed 🕶️ To cut a long story short it was the best decision of my life. Not only did it become another passion of mine but it also gave me something outside of acting that would help recharge me. Take my mind off the ups and downs of the acting game. I met almost like a second father in Master Kim and a beautiful community of friends at my Dojang. Leaving my family behind in England was not easy, but I gained a second one at our school. I’ve been training with him now 14 years and he’s inspired me to go onto other arts such as Muay Thai and jiu jitsu. I’m so thankful for his guidance and presence in my life. His vast knowledge of Taekwondo, Hapkido, Boxing, herbal medicine, and most importantly, life; has been the ultimate blessing! As I continue on this journey I am thankful for his impact.
